We are so looking to welcoming everyone to the Hotel in Tewkesbury. It goes without saying that your health and safety is extremely important to all of us at Field & Field and I just wanted to write to you regarding the special measures being taken in light of the current COVID situation.
Tewkesbury Park Hotel operates to an extremely high standard across the board and its handling of the current situation is no exception. Please read below for the policy.
When you join us, you’ll find that what sits at the heart of Tewkesbury Park and makes our resort so special remains unchanged, but we’ve inevitably needed to make some changes over recent weeks and months.
We’ve been working with our health and safety consultants, Shield Safety, to ensure that we meet their “Safe to Trade” scheme standards, and scored 100% in our “Safe To Trade” audit.
If you’d like to take a look at the details of our COVID-19 specific risk assessment, it is below. We also have department-specific risk assessments, which we’ll happily share with you if you would like.
Please note that we will be asking all guests to take a test for covid just before the event and half way through.
COVID-19 RISK ASSESSMENT
Keeping you safe, relaxed and secure – our 3 point plan
1 – Cleanliness & Sanitisation
We’ve always prided ourselves on high standards of cleanliness, but now our standards need to go even higher. These are our commitments to you:
~ We’ve carried out comprehensive pre-opening training, and will be providing ongoing training, to ensure that our team is familiar with the new cleaning, sanitising and emergency procedure protocols.
~ Surfaces will be regularly cleaned and sanitised with Stabilised Aqueous Ozone, with a particular focus on high-touch surface cleanliness. This includes all handles, switches, telephone receivers, television remote controls, shower units, electronic buttons, handrails, seating and tables.
~ Equipment will be cleaned and sanitised through our commercial dishwashers, at a minimum temperature of 82°C.
~ Foot-dispensed, alcohol-based hand sanitiser is available in key areas. We ask everyone to disinfect their hands when entering the building, or food service areas before tucking into a meal.
~ Our housekeeping team has been allocated additional time to carry out deep cleaning of all bedrooms, and open windows to let the fresh countryside air blow through.
~ We’ve paused mid-stay cleaning of your room; fresh towels and linen can be requested at any time and can be left outside your room if you prefer. All you need to do is fill out our “Help! I’ve run out of biscuits…” door hanger and we’ll do the rest.
~ We’ll only offer a turndown service in our historic suites when requested.
~ During the daytime, at least one member of our housekeeping team will be allocated to cleaning public areas.
~ All team members have their temperature checked at the start of their shift using a non-contact infrared thermometer, and will be offered lateral flow testing kits.
– All guests are asked to take a LFT prior to arrival and half way through your stay. There will be free test kits at the hotel and an on sight temperature machine available for use.
2 – Taking a sensible approach
We have bags of space, both outside and in. We’re surrounded by 170 acres of parkland golf course and gardens, with an outdoor kitchen area, plenty of terracing and ground floor rooms with patio areas. Inside, our spacious piano and cocktail lounges, together with our main bar and Berkeley Bar provide a range of options if you’re looking for a cracking morning coffee, indulgent afternoon tea or pre-dinner cocktail. We can even assign you a dedicated area if you’d like. The Government have removed most restrictions but it requires a collective effort to be a success. We want to ensure everyone remains safe by:
~ Minimising check-in time through our new pre-arrival check in system.
~ We’re encouraging our fabulous team to continue to wear a face covering when working inside and we’d be so pleased if our guests did the same.
~ We’ll keep the sympathetic screening at our hotel & health club receptions, as well as all bars and food display areas.
~ Lunche times will be staggered and tea/coffee stations spread around the building
~ Takeaway breakfast will be available for you to enjoy in your room, on the terrace or in the grounds, if you prefer.
~ Guests can order food and drink, or contact our team, using instant messaging on our TP guest app – Vamoos. The app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play – search for Vamoos, then enter ‘Tewkesbury’ as the user ID and complete your details.
~ Our hospitality service team have been trained to regularly sanitise their hands during shifts, and will be encouraged to wear masks when they serve you.
~ In line with government guidelines, guests are encouraged to wear masks when moving around the building, when attending lectures and taking part in talks and workshops.
~ Please observe social distancing as much as possible. Chairs will be well spaced both in classes and in the eating areas. The main lecture area where Iain McGilchrist will be giving his talks can be opened up for good natural ventilation. Rooms will be open and airy so please bring suitable clothing.
~ We encourage contactless payments, including Google Pay and Apple Pay.
~ All facilities in our health club are now fully open but some are designated as “common sense” areas. This means that we expect reasonable usage and not to overload the facilities.
3 – An Uncluttered Environment
To create an overall sense of calm and also help us to ensure a safe, clean and sanitised environment, free from the risk of accidental cross contamination, we have:
~ Removed all printed documents from our guest bedrooms. We encourage guests to use our new Vamoos app to access all hotel info, including menus and our guest directory. The app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play – search for Vamoos, then enter ‘Tewkesbury’ as the user ID and complete your details. Single use printed menus will also be available.
Hopefully that answers all your questions but if not please drop me a line at info@field-field.com
Best wishes
Samantha
